CHILLI SCOTCH BONNET RED ~ this habanero type chilli is very hot and very pungent! 10 seeds SOW & GROW: from mid April to end of May, indoors in a warm soil in trays or modules barely covering the seeds as they need light to germinate. When they reach the 2/3 leaf stage you can plant into a greenhouse or harden off and grow outside in a warm sheltered spot. They are happy in a container or you can fit 3 or 4 into a grow bag. This variety has smallish fruits (2-3cm long and wide) that ripen to a bright red, the heat increases as they ripen. This variety registers between 100,000 and 325,000 on the Scoville heat scale making them among the hottest varieties available. EAT: can be used fresh (will keep up to 3 weeks in a fridge) or dried, or ground into powder. Chillies freeze well.
